Condor is an exploration and development company and has completed several technical, environmental and economic studies that prove a new gold mine is both technically feasible and economically viable at Mina La India. Condor’s environmental policy is consummate with a project at this stage of development, where construction of a new processing plant has not commenced.

Condor believes that responsible mining can only occur with a constant performance improvement in all environmental activities, with the focus on preventing and minimising the environmental impact of the Company’s operations. To this end, Condor is developing tailored environmental programs for all aspects of a commercial mine. These programs are designed not only to comply with the local environmental laws operate, but also to meet international standards.  The International Finance Corporate (“IFC”), the investment arm of the World Bank, is an 7.5% shareholder in Condor Gold plc. The Company is committed to adhere to the IFC performance standards with regards to its environmental policies.

Condor’s Environmental Policy demonstrates our commitment to the environment by applying the principles of prevention, mitigation and environmental protection and the IFC’s performance standards. The Company actively fosters the education and awareness of employees, contractors, the community and other stakeholders in best environmental practices.

Condor works together with Government institutions and national organizations to monitor our environmental stewardship, comply with local environmental laws and the IFC performance standards. The Company promotes open and transparent dialogue with host communities. As part of the transparent dialogue, local people are invited to join Condor’s technical staff to measure the Company’s environmental performance in areas such as water and air quality monitoring, rehabilitation of work sites, reforestation projects and participation in local and national environmental initiatives. The results are shared and discussed in regular open forums.
